Honkai: Star Rail has officially unveiled the name and release window of its upcoming permanent game mode. Earlier rumors hinted at new endgame content for future updates, but it seems Honkai: Star Rail players will be able to experience it much sooner than expected.
There are currently three major permanent modes available in Honkai: Star Rail, including Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, and Apocalyptic Shadow. The latter was added in Version 2.3, which means Honkai: Star Rail hasn't launched new endgame resetting content since June 2024. Although the game has released other game modes, such as Divergent Universe: Human Comedy and Protean Hero, players have long requested more challenging modes. Earlier in July, some Honkai: Star Rail leaks teased new endgame gameplay for Version 3.7, which excited many fans. Now, HoYoverse has revealed the mode's release date, requirements, and rewards.

PostsIn a recent official HoYolab post, Honkai: Star Rail shared a content preview of its future updates. The game presented Anomaly Arbitration, a new permanent high-difficulty mode that will reset periodically. According to the developers, Anomaly Arbitration will consist of three trial challenges and one final stage. For the first trials, players need three separate teams, meaning characters cannot overlap in compositions. After completing these battles, fans can form any team combination and take on the final stage against formidable enemies. To unlock Anomaly Arbitration, players will need to have cleared Stage 12 of MoC, Stage 4 of PF, and AS in Difficulty 4. In other words, the new game mode is only available after completing the hardest levels of all three modes with full stars. Anomaly Arbitration is intended to launch during Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.6.
Honkai: Star Rail Reveals Anomaly Arbitration Mode for Version 3.6
The developers stated that players can complete MoC, PF, and AS in different versions and Anomaly Arbitration will still unlock for them. Additionally, the new endgame mode will grant various rewards like special leveling items, limited-time avatar frames, redeemable outfits, and more. Stellar Jades will likely be on the list as well. Honkai: Star Rail has assured fans that more information about Anomaly Arbitration will be given in the future. On the other hand, Version 3.6 will add other features like team-composition guides and a new event preview tab. Honkai: Star Rail is getting ready for Version 3.5, so the new permanent game mode is still months away. However, if HoYoverse follows its usual schedule, Version 3.6 could come around late September.
ClosePer its description, Anomaly Arbitration aims to be Honkai: Star Rail's toughest game mode yet. Whether it can meet players' expectations remains to be seen. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Honkai: Star Rail's next official livestream on August 2, which will share details about upcoming characters Cerydra and Hysilens.
